- 2 cups of all purpose flour
- ¾ cups Lukewarm water ( or 1 cup of water for a softer result) I like mine not too hard, not too soft, somewhere in the middle.
- 3 pinches of salt
- ½ cup of sugar
- ½ teaspoon of yeast
- Oil for frying
- Mix water and sugar in a large bowl.
- Sprinkle yeast over water and leave for 5 minutes to soften.
- Stir salt, sugar, and flour into yeast mixture.
- Cover with a towel and leave to rise for at least 1 hour.
- When you are ready to fry, heat your oil in a large cast iron or other heavy pot.
- Scoop the dough with an ice cream scoop or your finger and drop it into the hot oil.
