Why must we pray?

Prayer is a gateway to a close and precious relationship with God. Proverbs 15:8; Colossians 4:2; 1Thessalonians 5:17

Is prayer a priority?

Yes, prayer make the limitless resource of God available to us. So, we have to make prayer our first response in all things.

How to pray?

It is important to pray confidently in the name of Jesus. John 14:13

Thank God in all things, no matter how challenging circumstances may seem.

We must be specific during prayer, pray in faith, and claim God’s promises.

What should we pray about?

We can pray about anything and everything. For example to know God better, overcome sin etc…Philippians 4:6

What are the different types of prayer?

“Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people” (Ephesians 6:18)

Adoration: praising God for who he is (Revelation 4:11)

Confession: Agreeing with God and receiving his forgiveness for sin (1 John 1:7-9)

Thanksgiving: Appreciating God for his work in us and the world (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Intercession: requesting God’s intervention on behalf of others (James 5:16)

Petition: asking God to tend to specific personal needs (Matthew 6:32-33)

When must we pray?

We can pray at any time. Luke 6:12

Where must we pray?

We can pray anywhere. Daniel 6:10; acts 21:5; Acts 10:9

Is there any special posture to take in prayer?

No, there isn’t. 1 timothy 2:8
