Word Of The Day

Request Denied?

I know the story of this particular man, ruler in a country, who got entangled in an interesting situation of murder. How did he got there? After all, he is the one who is supposed to lead, protect and guide the people.

David, king of Israel, mighty man of war who never lost a battle found himself guilty of murder. He killed Uriah and impregnated Basheeba his wife. How could he do such thing? You probably asking yourself. But the truth is, at some point we found ourselves guilty of some sort of sin. The feeling of shame, guilt covered us.
Perhaps you sacrificed your values, rules, beliefs to get what was in your heart. Or you fought with all your strength to get the attention of this particular women or man of your ” dreams” Maybe it’s for a job, ministry you dreamt of ? what you will probably never do in a normal circumstances. Time was passing by and you thought, let me settle for less or even try something else. Basically you allow the fear of the unknown to enter in and doubt to take over your brain. Your strength got weak days after days to the point you can’t recognize yourself. That was David type of situation. Nevertheless he found the strength to go to God in prayer and begged him to spare the child from death. Guess what? The child died nonetheless. Once David heard the news, his countenance changed and he went into God’s presence to worship. What?????? He baffled his kingdom. But David knew the God he serves, faithful and bound by his word. The request was denied with this child because he has to face the consequences of his action. Nevertheless God showed mercy by giving Basheba and David another son in replacement. Not only he wiped away their tears, but also he demonstrated a high level of love and compassion towards them, by choosing Solomon their son to perpetuate the kingship out of David’s children.

May be you feel like God rejected your request after your sincere and genuine repentance. Listen remember he is compassionate, loving and ever faithful.
Here is what you should do:
• Stay in his presence
• Do not deliberately go back to that sin
• Continue to worship him
I can promise you that before you know it, you will be celebrating the Lord for his mighty deeds in your life. He is the only true God who can forgive instantaneously your sins and give you eternal life on top of it.
